Specialized Computer Hardware for Jewelry Stores

A full complement of hardware and hardware related services are available. We do not sell computers but we will recommend or acquire them on your behalf. You may ship new or existing computers to us for networking or other purposes. We will return fully networked, configured and tested systems to clients. We will also install on-site when required. We can provide as much assistance as is required by the client to insure a trouble free start up.

Tag Printers

The EDGE software supports a number of tag printers that will create Mylar tags capable of withstanding the steamer or multiple baths in the ultrasonic cleaner. We offer the Datamax E-Class printer. Other printers may also be compatible. Please contact us for details.

Imaging System

The EDGE can use images that have been introduced to the computer in a variety of ways. Images can originate from digital cameras, video cameras, or scanners. It is possible for the EDGE to find images on a vendors CD and match them to inventory items. We have a low cost that is quick and easy to use and does a nice job for identifying inventory items and appraisal purposes. Click Here for More Info.

Bar Code Scanner

A high density Bar Code reader is necessary to read the tiny barcodes needed for jewelry tags. A number of manufacturers make readers that may work. We sell and recommend the HHP IT-3800VHD.

Touch-Screen

We strongly recommend a touch-screen monitor at the primary POS position. This device allows you to navigate the program with a touch of your index finger, as an alternative to using the mouse. We find this device especially useful for users without a great deal of computer experience.

Cash Drawer

The EDGE opens signal operated cash drawers connected via a serial port. A number of devices will interface with The EDGE. We recommend and sell the Indiana Cash Drawer model SOP2120.

Other Hardware

We recommend a laser printer for receipt printing. The Brother HL-1240 at 12ppm is a good choice. Another that we recommend is the HP-1200e. An Epson or HP Inkjet printer is a good choice for printing color images or reports with color coded graphs.
